I am a Medical Oncologist specialising in breast cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. I studied Pharmacology and then Medicine at the University of Sheffield and have always been interested in cancer research.

My interest in lobular breast cancer has developed during my clinical practice over the past 5 years, during which time I have met many wonderful, courageous women with early and advanced breast cancer.
Seeing the very distinct way that lobular breast cancer presents and in some cases, the way that it sadly relapses, inspired me to investigate lobular breast cancer further. A collaboration with the amazing Professors Chris Lord and Nick Turner at the ICR in London, supported by a grant from Breast Cancer Now, has allowed me to open the first UK trial of a targeted agent specifically for lobular breast cancer, which is running at sites across the UK now. I hope that this will be the first of many trials trying to improve the treatment for women living with lobular breast cancer.
