James Lind Alliance PSP
Unlocking Lobular, our James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership
Priority Setting Partnerships (PSPs) work to identify key research questions through a structured process involving clinicians, patients and carers. The findings from PSPs often encourage the funding of these research questions.
We worked to recruit members to the James Lind Alliance Unlocking Lobular PSP, which included researchers, clinicians and Lobular Breast Cancer patient advocates.
We will be agreeing the Top 10 priority changes for primary and secondary/metastatic Lobular breast cancer in the NICE and SIGN treatments guidelines and identifying the research gaps needed to change them.
The work will identify if the level of research data is already available to propose change to the guidance and where there are gaps in this evidence. This will help to guide future research programmes to drive forward these changes.
What is a James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership?
James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) helps to make research as meaningful as possible to the people who need it and result in real clinical change. It brings together patients, carers and clinicians to agree which treatments should become part of clinical practice and deserve priority attention.
Our PSP will prioritise the Top 10 research challenges to change UK breast cancer treatment guidelines, in primary and secondary/metastatic Lobular Breast Cancer.
PSPs enable clinicians, patients and carers to work together to identify and prioritise research needs for specific health conditions.
