If you’re interested in research into Lobular Breast Cancer, ensure you get signed up for the virtual Patient Advocacy session of this year’s International Invasive Lobular Cancer (ILC) Symposium.

On the Thursday, there are a number of sessions specifically focused for Patients and Patient Asdvocates that will be streamed live online. You can register through this link http://ilcsymposium.com/ and find out the programme of the Symposium too.

The Symposium takes place in Pittsburgh from Thursday 28 – Saturday 30 September this year. It is the only conference in the world that focuses solely on Lobular Breast Cancer research and advocacy, and we’re delighted that LBCUK has been involved in organising the event.

Over the three days, clinicians, scientists & researchers will present on the latest reseach taking place into Lobular from around the globe & discuss how we can all work together to improve outcomes for everyone diagnosed with lobular.

Topics include basic Lobular biology, the pathology of ILC, imaging methods, genetics and how we can help to drive research as Patient Advocates.

We’ll feedback from the Symposium as we have two representatives from LBCUK attending the Symposium, Jacqui Taylor and Claire Turner, our Chair. We will be sharing research we conducted at LBCUK in partnership with De Montfort University on how Lobular tumours that are not seen on mammogram impact on patients. Claire will also be Chairing a panel and presenting about the work we do at LBCUK.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated towards our Walking Our Mammaries fundraisers, as your support enables us to fund the attendance of our volunteer advocates.
