Help shape the National Cancer Plan for Lobular patients.
We have a unique opportunity to ensure that the National Cancer Plan includes commitments to save and improve more lives of people affected by Lobular Breast Cancer.
The Government announced last October that is is developing a new dedicated cancer strategy following a campaign from the wider cancer community. Research shows that countries that have a co-ordinated plan, have better outcomes for patients.
It is important that the National Cancer Plan drives improvements for everyone currently affected by Lobular and for those diagnosed in the future.
This is your chance to share yours or a loved one’s experience of a Lobular diagnosis, treatment and care by responding to the Government’s Call for Evidence, and help influence future cancer policy.
When you are responding, please ensure that you refer to Lobular Breast Cancer and not simply breast cancer.
We will be submitting our own response from Lobular Breast Cancer UK which will be focusing on:
- the recognition and greater understanding of Lobular Breast Cancer as a distinct disease across research and clinical practice in the UK;
- greater investment in research focusing on Lobular Breast Cancer to identify and adopt more effective Lobular treatments;
- improvement in the early diagnosis and monitoring of Lobular Breast Cancer across primary and metastatic disease, through enhanced and innovative methods of detection, and appropriate monitoring;
- a robust and comprehensive data capture mechanism for all breast cancer sub-types across primary and metastatic disease to benchmark and improve research and clinical practice;
- representative engagement of Lobular patients in clinical trials and the capture and publication of histological sub-type data in research;
- comprehensive and robust psychological and psychosocial support for all patients receiving any cancer diagnosis.
If you are a Lobular patient or a loved one of someone diagnosed with this distinct disease, please fill in this survey by 29 April 2025.
Thank you for helping to ensure that Lobular Breast Cancer is a priority in the new National Cancer Plan.
